Published stories

My story Funeral has been published by that little giant of literature, Pygmy Giant.

This is Tuck Magazine and the story is The Economic Problem, featuring my favourite residents of Happy Island.

My story Killing Myself seems to have been published under a false name just to confuse everyone. Maybe I'm just trying to confuse myself so I don't kill myself? It makes as much sense as anything.

This was one I'd forgotten I'd written, let alone that it had been published. What is this part of my brain that writes and publishes stories and doesn't tell the rest of me: The end of the civilised world – Thanks to the lovely Urban story for publishing the story that they assure me I wrote.

Yeah, one of my oldest short stories and I still love it: Splat - Eclat fiction were the kind souls who released this into the ether. The fun starts on page 27 and goes on all the way to page 29. Don't miss out on page 28 though, it's great!

I have written no less than 7 short stories with the title: Out of Body experience – Word Gumbo Press had the privilege of publishing this one. If anybody can think of another title for a story I'd really appreciate it, I'm getting desperate here.

More Urban Story with an extract from that bloody escaped tiger novella I wrote. This is called Okay Commuter, and yes, I do rate the Radiohead album of a similar name as possibly the worst album ever made, what of it?

Fuckfiction is a fine attitude for a short story site to take, so I'm delighted that my story Jurgen Klinsmann is not Dissolvable in Water has been chosen to grace the site's pages.

Update - more fuckfiction - this time The Writing Process Explained.

My first illustrated story - Storyshack have published Death and the Purple Hat.

Stories you have to pay for

My story I don't even have a name has been published in the charity compilation 50 Stories for Pakistan.

My story Thumbnail Sketches has been published in the charity compilation 100 Stories for Queensland.

Issue III of Far Off Places magazine is titled 'Under the Bed' and features my short story 'Little Baby Jesus', not to be confused with little baby cheeses.

  1. Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed "The Goat Happiness Man" on Word Hut. Great fun, and elegant in its compactness.

One day I shall write something other than linear fiction - or maybe I am too old to change.

    1. Many thanks Mike, glad you enjoyed the Goat Happiness Man.

Most of my fiction is more traditional in style, but it's fun to experiment.
